Prior to joining Alan L. Frank Law Associates, P.C. in 2013, Robert Gordon worked at an intellectual property boutique in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, specializing in patent prosecutions and patent infringement matters. There, Robert drafted claims and specifications for non-provisional utility patent applications in a wide variety of subject matters, including radio frequency, electro-optics, firearms, weapon magazines, and other inventions in the electrical and mechanical arts in industries including retail, clothing, emergency response, sanitation, and environmental science. Robert’s efforts involved the entire patent application process from initial patent searches throughout Office Actions and adversarial correspondence with patent examiners, and finally with the applications’ issuance to a completed patent.
Robert has appeared in the state and federal courts throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey, having defended countless motions and participating in bench and jury trials. While at Alan L. Frank Law Associates, P.C., Robert has participated in extensive appellate practice having authored several appellate briefs in federal and state appellate courts, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and Superior Court and Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. Also a frequent participant in alternative dispute resolution matters, Robert has worked to settle several cases through mediation.
Robert further maintains a transactional practice, having authored operating agreements, shareholder agreements, promissory notes, leases, and countless other documents that individuals and companies require for their respective business purposes.
True to his roots in intellectual property, Robert also performs patent and trademark searches and provides patentability and trademark opinions for successful companies and individual inventors.
