With over four decades of litigation and business experience, Alan has established a distinguished reputation for excellence in complex commercial disputes, professional malpractice cases, and litigation involving closely held business entities.
Alan is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York, and in numerous federal courts, including the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second, Third, Seventh, Eighth, and Ninth Circuits, as well as the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. He is also a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Pennsylvania. In addition, Alan is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Civil Trial Attorney, a credential awarded to only a small percentage of New Jersey attorneys.
Alan has appeared in federal, state, and arbitration venues across the country and has tried numerous accountant, attorney, and stockbroker malfeasance cases. His practice focuses on commercial litigation, including contract disputes, business torts, and disputes among shareholders, partners, and members of limited liability companies. He has also presented a Continuing Legal Education course for the Bucks County Bar Association.
In addition to his litigation practice, Alan is the author and co-author of more than twenty nationally published articles, including features in The Practical Business Lawyer, The Practical Litigator, Journal of Asset Protection, and Taxation for Lawyers. His scholarship has addressed topics such as arbitration enforcement, bankruptcy implications for insiders, and valuation and minority member rights in limited liability companies.
Before founding his firm, Alan served for many years as a tenured associate professor at Villanova University’s School of Commerce and Finance, where he taught graduate and undergraduate courses in taxation and accounting. He has also taught at Temple University.
Alan earned his B.S. in Business Administration (Accounting) from La Salle University (cum laude, 1976), his J.D. from Temple University School of Law (cum laude, 1981), and his LL.M. in Taxation from Temple University (1985).
